Io Jacobson
Principal Solicitor
Io is an Immigration Lawyer and Qualified Education Agent Counsellor. She has a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in Politics) from the University of Queensland, a Bachelor of Laws (1st class Hon) from Southern Cross University, and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from Australian National University.
Io has always had a keen interest in migration law, having lived in both Japan and Mexico for some time. She has international work experience designing English learning curriculums and providing consultation services about Australia as a destination for international education. Io believes passionately in the transformative power of a good education and has integrated this passion into Turnstone’s vision.
In her spare time, Io practices martial arts and chases her dog along the majestic beaches of Northern NSW.
Kamleshan Perumal (KP) Naidoo
Solicitor
Kamleshan is a seasoned South African lawyer who practised in various firms before establishing his own firm in South Africa. He holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of South Africa (UNISA).
In order to be recognised and practise as a solicitor in Australia, Kamleshan furthered his studies through the University of New England in Armidale and College of Law.
In 2023, Kamleshan migrated with his wife and cat, Jasper, to Australia. Their visa process prior to leaving South Africa involved careful planning and consideration. Kamleshan has a keen understanding of the implications regarding immigration and aims to make make the move for other immigrants all the more effortless.
Kamleshan enjoys the beaches along the Northern Rivers and would often be found at Lake Ainsworth with his paddle board. He also enjoys reading, theatre, films and video gaming.
Ieda Fontoura
Skills Assessment Specialist
Ieda is a skilled Brazilian Lawyer with over six years of experience working in law firms both in Brazil and Australia. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from PUC-Rio and a Certificate of Legal English from the University of California in San Diego.
She is currently undergoing a Diploma in Law at the University of Sydney to be recognised as a Solicitor in Australia.
As someone who has travelled the world and has personal experience as a migrant in both Australia and the United States, Ieda has a deep understanding of the challenges and complexities of the immigration process. She can draw on this personal experience to provide empathetic and effective assistance to clients.
In addition to her passion for law, Ieda is also a certified yoga teacher. In her spare time, you will most likely find her exercising or at the beach. She loves practising yoga, boxing, running, and going to the gym. Ieda is also an avid reader and enjoys reading under the sun.

Mataya is a dynamic Legal Secretary with a dedication to supporting migrant communities. She combines a deep-seated commitment to making a tangible impact on the world with a passion for international travel.
